Tackling Common Problems with Portable A/C Units

spot cooler vented out of restaurant Spot coolers are efficient and reliable units for commercial businesses to use during the warm summer months. However, they can sometimes produce an error code or occasionally malfunction. But, no need to worry! There is oftentimes an easy solution to this problem. Here are some of the most common issues that may cause spot coolers to produce an error code:

  1. Low-Pressure or Freeze Warning: A spot cooler could produce a low-pressure or freeze warning caused by dirty filters or coils within the unit that need to be cleaned. To prevent this from happening, regularly check the evaporator and condenser filters and coils to make sure they are not building up any excess dirt. When the air filters are clean, the unit will run more efficiently.
  2. Power Issues: To ensure that the unit runs properly, the connected power source must match the unit’s specifications. To determine the specific power requirements needed for your unit, check out our air conditioning units. If the unit malfunctions due to a power issue, check whether the fuse or circuit breaker for the equipment has been blown or tripped. Electrical shorts can cause the temperature sensor to malfunction.
  3. Water Tank Concern: An error notice may appear if the unit’s condensation tank is full. To fix this issue, you will need to empty the water tank. Sometimes the tank may not be positioned correctly and will need to be put back properly to fix the error code.
  4. Airflow Restriction: If the air filter is blocked or there could be a kink in the exhaust duct, it can cause a high-pressure problem. This results in the air conditioner malfunctioning. Be sure to check for any obstructions in the air filter and remove them promptly to get the unit working again. 1.2 Ton Spot Cooler
